Las Vegas has the home-team Tigers as a 3-point betting favorite here, while the total sits very low at only 39.5.

These SEC squads haven’t played one another since 2008 when the Tigers went on the road to win 24-17 as a 1.5-point favorite. LSU has won all 3 head-to-head meetings since 2003, including a 28-16 victory in 2007 in the last game where they hosted the Gamecocks. These 2 recent matchups both went under the total and South Carolina hasn’t gained more than 261 yards in either game.

South Carolina has a perfect record but they really haven’t been challenged by a team that has the formula to defeat them. LSU is a similar team in that they have a dominant defense, but this offense has looked terrible against any team with a defensive pulse. The Tigers just lost 6-14 against the Florida Gators but previously racked up wins over Towson, Auburn, Idaho, Washington, and North Texas. LSU’s defense should do their job on Saturday, but only time will tell if the offense will be able to move the ball and take advantage of good field position.
