The New Orleans Saints (2-4) have been playing better football after a terrible start, but they have a tough test on their hands this week as they head in Sports Authority Field at Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos (3-3). This clash will be the late game on Sunday this week and we’ll get started with an opening kickoff at 8:20 PM ET on NBC.

These two teams haven’t met up since 2008 when the Broncos won 34-32 at home as a 5-point favorite, and Denver will be similarly favored by 6 on Sunday night. The total sits high at 55.5 with both of these teams capable of scoring big points, and it’s worth noting that 5 of the 6 head-to-head meetings between the Broncos and the Saints since 1985 have gone over their respective totals.
New Orleans began their year with consecutive losses against the Washington Redskins, Carolina Panthers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Green Bay Packers but has since rebounded with back-to-back victories over the San Diego Chargers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints have scored 24 or more in every game this year, but their defense has been terrible while allowing 24 or more in every single game as well.
That could be bad news for the Saints since the Broncos have scored 21 or more in every game this season and have topped 34 in 2 of their last 3. Denver holds victories over the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders, and Pittsburgh Steelers this season but has lost to the New England Patriots, Houston Texans, and the Atlanta Falcons. The Broncos have given up 27 or more in every loss and the Saints seem fully capable of taking advantage of a defense that doesn’t always show up.
