The Green Bay Packers (2-3) are in desperate need of a win, but they won’t have it easy on Sunday as they travel to Reliant Stadium for a game against the undefeated Houston Texans (5-0). This matchup will be the late game on Sunday, October 14th and will get started at 8:20 PM ET on NBC. Green Bay is 0-2 on the road this year while the Texans will be looking to improve on a perfect 2-0 mark at home.

There are only 2 recent head-to-head meetings between these teams to look back on, and the road team has won both. Houston won 24-21 as a 7-point underdog in 2008, while the Packers were 16-13 winners as a 3.5-point favorite in 2004. Both games went under the total and Sunday’s game is set high at 48 points. The Texans covered the spread in both matchups and will be a 3.5-point favorite against Green Bay in the 2012 meeting.

Green Bay holds wins over the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints but they have lost against the San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks, and the Indianapolis Colts. The Packers should probably be 3-2 when you consider the call at the end of the Seahawks game, but there is no excuse for letting the Colts come back to take a 27-30 win last weekend.

Houston has bested the Miami Dolphins, Jacksonville Jaguars, Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and New York Jets this year but hasn’t really been challenged by an elite team before this weekend. The Texans had covered the point spread in every game this year before failing in their 23-17 road win over the Jets as a 9.5-point betting favorite on Monday night last week.
