The 2011 TicketCity Bowl will be played between the #23 Penn State Nittany Lions (9-3) and the #17 Houston Cougars (12-1) at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas on Monday, January 2nd.
The matchup looks to be one of the more intriguing ones of the bowl season, and these teams have played some vastly different games this year.
Penn State has covered the point spread in just 3 of their 12 games this year while Houston has been one of the best bets in college football with wagering wins in 10 of 13 games.
The Cougars have played in some high-scoring games with 8 of their 13 going over the total, while the Nittany Lions have gone over the number in just 2 of 12.
The Cougars opened up as 7.5-point favorites in this one but have quickly been bet down to -6.5 despite wager-tracking websites showing that Houston is receiving about 65% of the action on the point spread.
The total has also moved around quite a bit and currently sits at 56.5 after starting off at 59 earlier in the week.
Penn State has lost in 2 of their last 3 games and is coming off of an embarrassing 7-45 game against Wisconsin that saw the Nittany Lions outgained by 217 yards.
Houston is fresh off their first loss of the season and they looked terrible in the 28-49 defeat against Southern Miss.
The game was the first time Houston didn’t cover the point spread since late September.

The Nittany Lions currently have quarterback Matt McGloin (head) and wide receiver Curtis Drake (disciplinary) listed as question to play.
Drake knocked out McGloin in a locker room fight recently and the quarterback suffered a seizure while unconscious.
