The 2011 Insight Bowl from Tempe, Arizona features a matchup between the Iowa Hawkeyes (7-5) and the #19 Oklahoma Sooners (9-3).
This will be the 2nd time each has played in the Insight Bowl and the first meeting against one another in this game.
Oklahoma was a 6-31 loser against BYU in 1994, while Iowa won last year’s Insight Bowl with a 27-24 victory over Missouri.
In addition to having the superior record, Oklahoma also has been more impressive away from home by a large margin.
The Sooners are 4-2 on the road this season while the Hawkeyes are merely 1-4 when having to travel.
It makes lots of sense for Oklahoma to be the 2011 Insight Bowl favorite, but the line movement has been a bit confusing.
The Sooners opened up as 16.5-point favorites, and with nearly 65% of tracked college football bettors taking Oklahoma it seemed a sure bet for the spread to go even higher.
It has, in fact, done the opposite and the Sooners are currently only 14-point favorites despite the favoritism of the betting public.
The total has also moved from its opener of 56 and is now at either 57.5 or 58 depending on which sportsbook you plan to wager on the game with.
The movement on the point spread is even trickier to digest when you figure in the fact that the Hawkeyes have lost outright in 3 of their last 5 games and aren’t playing particularly good football.
Iowa has covered the point spread in just 2 of their last 6 overall this season and has gone under in 3 of 5 heading into the Insight Bowl.

Oklahoma is coming off an embarrassing 10-44 loss against Oklahoma State and has lost 2 of their last 3 while failing to cover the point spread in any of those games.
The Sooners have gone under the total in 3 of 4 and were considered to be one of the elite teams in college football for much of the season.
