The New York Giants (7-7) and the New York Jets (8-6) both have lots on the line in their 1:00 PM ET clash on Saturday.
The Jets are in the driver’s seat for an AFC wild card berth but things would get a bit dicey if they suffered a loss this weekend.
The Giants have fallen behind the 8-6 Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East standings and would be one spot out of the postseason if the NFL Playoffs were to start today.
It will be the Jets at home for this one, and they have amassed a 6-1 record when playing in their own stadium this season.
The Giants won’t have to travel very far for this clash but it is worth pointing out that they are 4-3 on the road.
The betting odds show that the home-team Jets are favored by 3 on the point spread, while the total has been bet down from 47 to where it currently stands at 46.
These two rivals met up most recently in 2007 when the Giants won 35-24 at home as a 3.5-point favorite.
The Giants were again 31-28 winners in overtime as 3-point road underdogs in 2003, and the over has been a winner in all 3 head-to-head meetings since 1999.
The Giants enter Saturday’s showdown as losers in 5 of their last 6 games. Although most of the losses have been against elite NFL teams, you have to question New York’s skill level after falling 10-23 at home to the Washington Redskins last Sunday.

The Jets are coming off a 19-45 road loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and have gone over the total in 4 straight.
