The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs (8-4) and the #15 TCU Horned Frogs (10-2) will meet up in the 2011 Poinsettia Bowl on December 21st, and this game could be much closer than many are expecting.
The Horned Frogs opened up at 12.5-point favorites but have actually been bet down to -10.5 despite college football bet-tracking websites showing that TCU is garnering close to 80% of wagers on the point spread.
The total of 55.5 has been bet down from 56 but hasn’t received anywhere close to the attention that the spread has attracted.
Louisiana Tech is on a 7-game winning streak over the likes of Idaho, Utah State, San Jose State, Fresno State, Mississippi, Nevada, and New Mexico State, but TCU looks like the toughest of their opponents this year.
The Bulldogs nearly defeated Mississippi State in overtime as 19.5-point underdogs earlier this season, but passing teams have found a way to put up points on the Louisiana Tech defense.
TCU can pass the ball effectively so it will be interesting to see if Louisiana Tech will improve on their stellar 10-2 record against the point spread this season.

TCU lost some earlier season games as they seem to have adjusted to all the new faces and are now on a 7-game winning streak, including being the only team to upset Boise State this year after the Broncos failed to convert a late field goal try that would have given them the win.
The Horned Frogs have been winning, but they’ve only covered the spread in 2 of their last 5 victories.
While TCU has been a good over bet with 9 of their 12 exceeding the total, Louisiana Tech has seen 7 of their 12 games this year go under the total.
