The 2011 New Mexico Bowl will feature the Temple Owls (8-4) going up against the Wyoming Cowboys (8-4) in what looks to be a pretty even matchup.
Temple and Wyoming haven’t met up since 1990 when the Cowboys won 38-23 at home as 16-point favorites.
Wyoming is 4-2 away from home this season while the Owls sit at just 2-3 on the year when having to travel.
Temple has won 3 straight games heading into the New Mexico Bowl but has covered the point spread in only 2 of their last 5 games.
The Owls have gone over the total in 4 straight games after having gone under in 6 consecutive clashes prior.
Temple will be a 6.5-point favorite for the New Mexico Bowl, marking the 9th straight game in which Las Vegas has made the Owls the likely winner.
The game will be played at 2:00 PM ET on December 17th, and ESPN will be broadcasting the college football action.
Wyoming didn’t manage to cover the point spread in their 22-19 win over Colorado State last time out, but the Cowboys have won money for bettors in 5 of their last 7 overall this year.
They’ve now gone under the total in 5 straight games and it will be interesting to see if they can add to that.
The New Mexico Bowl total is set at 47.5 and has been bet up since debuting at 47 earlier in the week.

Temple runs for 256.7 yards a game and averages 30.1 points each time out, while Wyoming puts up 27.0 on average while showing a nice balance of the run and the pass.
The Owls have been much better statistically on the defensive side of things with Wyoming giving up 27.0 points per game and Temple only allowing 13.8.
