The New York Jets (6-5) and the Washington Redskins (4-7) meet up on Sunday, and both teams desperately need a win if they want to figure into this year’s playoff picture.
The game is set to kickoff at 1:00 PM ET and tracked NFL bettors are taking the Jets on the point spread at nearly an 80% ratio.
With that amount of money pouring in on New York, you’d assume the point spread would be moving higher instead of lower, but it hasn’t.
The Jets opened up as a 6-point road favorite here but have been bet down to -3 where the line currently stands.
It’s a bit of a head scratcher since there aren’t any key New York injuries to speak of, but someone with a large amount of money apparently prefers the Redskins to keep the game close.
The total for Sunday’s game sits at 38 and has been bet down a point from its opener of 39.
Part of the reason for the line move going in the other direction could be due to New York’s poor 1-4 record when having to go on the road this season.
The Redskins are just 2-3 and don’t have a dominant home field advantage, but the Jets have lost by an average of 10 in their road defeats against the Broncos, Patriots, Ravens, and Raiders.

New York is also cold lately and has failed to cover the point spread in any of their previous 3 games.
Washington has covered in 2 straight while going over in both games, but their only victories at home this season were over the Giants and the Cardinals in the first two weeks of the season.
The Jets have gone over the total in 2 of their last 3 this year.
