The CBS-televised Thanksgiving Day game between the Miami Dolphins (3-7) and the Dallas Cowboys (6-4) looked like one to ignore a few weeks ago, but both teams have played well lately and there are numerous reasons to tune-in.
The Dolphins vs. Cowboys game has a start time of 4:15 PM ET and Dallas will be a 7-point home favorite with a total of 44.
Dallas looked all but done after starting out 2-3, but they’ve since won 4 of their last 5 and are tied with the New York Giants atop the NFC East standings.
The Cowboys haven’t been as friendly to bettors who have put down money them, however, as they’ve covered just 3 of their last 9 games this season.
Dallas has now gone over the total in their last 2 games after going under in 4 straight previously.
Miami looked like they were in a battle with the winless Indianapolis Colts for the top pick in the draft before turning it on recently.
The Dolphins have now won 3 straight games and they’ve done so with double digit victories every time.
Miami has covered the point spread in 4 straight games after not having covered at all before this run, and they’ve gone under the total in 9 straight.
The Dolphins have scored 28.7 points per game over their last 3 contests, but the increase has much more to do with their defense than it does their offense.
Miami has limited teams to just 278.7 yards and 6.7 points per game over that span, and the defense has set the offense up with short fields time and time again.
Dallas is a team that needs the running game to help out for them to score a ton of points, and it will be interesting to see how they do against a Dolphins squad that has allowed just 72.7 rushing yards a game over their last 3.
