It’s tough to know what to make of the new-look Oakland Raiders (5-4), but we should get a better idea of how good or bad they really are in Sunday’s 1:00 PM ET showdown against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Raiders opened up as a 3-point road favorite but the odds were quickly bet down to a pick ‘em.
The opening total of 44 has also seen some change and is currently at 45.5.
Close to 70% of tracked NFL bettors are taking Oakland to cover the point spread, but that hasn’t stopped the line from moving big in the other direction.
Those betting on this game in Las Vegas have a wide variety of options to choose from. Although most online sportsbooks have the game as a pick, the Las Vegas Hilton still has the Oakland Raiders at +1.5 while the MGM Mirage is showing +1.
The total sits at 45 at Leroy’s for those that want the over, and at 46 at Wynn for those that are leaning toward betting the under.
The Raiders are +105 on the money line at the Las Vegas Hilton, while Minnesota is returning -125.
Oakland and Minnesota have met up just twice since the 2003 season, and each time managed to grab a home win.
The Raiders won 28-18 as 4.5-point underdogs in Oakland in 2003, while Minnesota returned the favor with a 29-22 home win as 4.5-point favorites in 2007.
The over was a winner in both of the games after 3 straight head-to-head meetings from 1993-to-1999 all went under.
The Raiders lost by double digits to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos in home games after starting Carson Palmer at quarterback, but they rebounded to win 24-17 at the San Diego Chargers last weekend.
It remains to be seen if the win is a sign of good things to come for Oakland.
