The Minnesota Vikings (1-4) and the Chicago Bears (2-3) have both been big letdowns for fans that were expecting them to compete for a playoff spot, but each team will have a chance to right the ship in Sunday’s 8:20 PM ET late game.
The Bears are the home team here and they are 2-1 in Chicago, while the Vikings have ran up a 0-2 record while away from Minnesota.
The NFL betting odds show the home-team Bears as just 3-point favorites on the point spread, while the total sits at 41.5.
Close to 65% of tracked bettors are taking Chicago over Minnesota here, yet the spread hasn’t moved at all since it came out earlier in the week. The total has seen a bit of a change, going down a full point since debuting at 42.5.
Those that want to take the under in Las Vegas can still find a 42 at the Hilton, Leroy’s, and Stations.
These NFC North foes meet up twice every year, and the home team has been an outright winner in 6 of the last 7.
The one losing home team was the Vikings when Chicago won 40-14 in Minnesota last year, and the Bears have now beat them in 3 straight head-to-head meetings.
Chicago has covered the point spread in all 3 of those games, while the over was a winner in 2-of-3.
We’ll have two veteran quarterbacks going here, with Donovan McNabb (849 yards, 56.8%, 4 TD, 2 INT) starting for the Vikings and Jay Cutler (1209 yards, 58.6%, 6 TD, 4 INT) getting the snaps for the Bears.
Cutler has received horrid pass protection this season but Minnesota sack master defensive end Jared Allen is listed as questionable with an eye injury.
Chicago has a pass rushing specialist as questionable to play as well as Julius Peppers has a sprained MCL in his left knee.
